These measures provide a more detailed view of school quality and student outcomes across the state.
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released Standard of Learning (SOL) pass rate data on Aug. 27. The overall SOL pass rates for Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) exceeded the state pass rates in all subject areas.

Officers: Vacancies
In the event that the Chair should vacate office prior to expiration of a term, the Vice-Chair shall fill the position of Chair for the remainder of the term.
Should any other officer of the School Board vacate office, the School Board shall, at the next regular meeting following the acceptance of such notice, elect or appoint a new officer. In the case of a vacancy in the office of the Clerk or Deputy Clerk these vacancies shall be filled in the same manner in which they were originally appointed.
