The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released Standard of Learning (SOL) pass rate data on Aug. 27. The overall SOL pass rates for Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) exceeded the state pass rates in all subject areas.

Classified Personnel: Meetings, Conferences and Conventions
Classified personnel are encouraged to expand their knowledge and skills in areas that will provide more effective services for students. Classified personnel who wish to attend meetings, conferences, or conventions in order to gain additional knowledge and/or skills may do so under regulations approved by the School Division.
The School Board may pay the fees for registration and travel expenses for approved meetings. The Superintendent or designee shall include these expenditures in the proposed budget.
